The Podcasts I am Listening

The pandemic changed a few things for me. One of them was how I consumed ideas. I had always enjoyed books. I started listening to them through library apps, eventually moved to Audible, and even tried a Blinkist subscription. But somehow, I never really connected with audiobooks. I could listen to them, but I couldn’t quite enjoy them.
Then, one day, while out running, I stumbled upon a podcast. Something clicked.

It wasn’t someone promoting themselves for an hour, or simply talking at me. It was a thoughtful conversation—two scholars discussing research, ideas, and what the evidence actually had to say. I found myself listening differently. I wasn’t just consuming a story; I was thinking along with the conversation. That led me to Freakonomics, and then I discovered the one that completely pulled me into the world of podcasts: No Stupid Questions, from the same people behind Freakonomics.
I was hooked.

Since then, podcasts have become one of my favorite ways to learn. I listen while running, driving, walking, or doing things that don’t require much thought. I love the feeling of discovering an unexpected idea, hearing two intelligent people disagree thoughtfully, or having something I thought I understood suddenly turned on its head.

This is where I’ll keep some of the podcasts that have made me stop, think, laugh, or look at the world a little differently.
